Here is a ROM made for all the Touchwiz Lovers out there who love to have a completely de-bloated, deodexed, rooted, battery friendly ROM.

This ROM uses very minimal RAM since its de-bloated to it's bare minimum.

NTFS automounter for Kitkat touchwiz

I have made an NTFS automount script following how touchwiz mounts usbotg drives in vold.
This script will allow touchwiz to automount ur NTFS drive with RW like how touchwiz auto mounts fat or exfat drives.
This script requires
1) Root access ( su )
2) init.d execution
3) SE must be disable/permissive
4) busybox in /system/bin (u may edit the script urself if you wan to change the busy box location
5) must be kitkat 4.4.2 touchwiz based rom and stock based modified kernels.


it is currently tested on DN3 V5.2 with Android 4.4.2 AGNi pureSTOCK v4.2.2. i believe it will work on all kitkat stock roms.

This is currently still a beta, it is still based on bash and it poles /dev/block for ntfs once every 1sec. I am still testing the effect of it to battery life.

attached is the recovery zip flash file to installed the script. Please let me know of any bugs or any improvement or any feedback regarding the script. thanks.

Switching recoveries via ODIN

So I have this N7100 with a custom 4.4.2 ROM (rr remix) and TWRP recovery. The issue is TWRP won't mount any kind of storage, int or ext, so I want to switch to CWM and wonder if I could just flash that through ODIN like you would over a stock recovery. I am rooted, got supersu though ROM Manager or Goo are not an option right now. I read somewhere once that flashing a custom rec. over another custom rec. in ODIN can brick the thing. Should I go ahead with ODIN?

Sboot.bin error at N7100

Hi there, I have been trying to change my rom today. I did so long time ago, but today when I updated found out about KNOX and its restrictions.

After updating to Phoenix 4.4.2 rom, I can't change ROM; the only one that succeded was N7100UBUFND2_N7100ZTOFND2 (official)...

Now when I try to install any other rom I find a "sboot.bin... error" at ODIN.

What to do? I already tried changing from official 4.4.2 to one without SNOX; tried applying Dr. Ketan patch with same error; even Dr.Ketan's multitool doesn't work.

I've been spending all the day reading through the forums without good results.

Also, in Download Mode, it shows:

Current Binary: Official
System Status: Custom
Knox Warranty void: 1
AP SWREV: A2

What can I do? I don't like Samsung's Official Bloatware...

This is my first contribution on this developer forum and a "sideload" of my current project you can see in my signature
(as an appetizer I added default lockscreen wallpaper from that).
As there is no open NE2 atm, I got to take one from carrier.

I want to share this base with anybody, feel free to use it, also as a base for own development (in that case: as usual don't forget to mention if published).

How to restore warranty at sammy custom roms 4.3, 4.4.2

First a big thanks to anyone who is cooking roms writing apps scripts etc here and to user faria for the param.bin file.
Now the point, i found a solution to restore warranty at custom roms and i like to share with you.
This checked and working at any 4.3, 4.4 sammy rom (only at latest 4.4.2 XXUFNG4 i haven't test it)
Now what u need
1) mj5 bootloader
2) a rom compatible with mobile odin
3) mobile odin (i am using pro but i think is not necessary such as everoot is not necessary, don't forget if u don't use pro u have to download with app and the proper mobile odin kernel from chainfire's post)
4) triangle away
5) the files attached at end
6) stock kernel and recovery ( u can extract them from same version original rom, attention don't use other rom with other version stock kernel because u will have not wifi)

Ok now the procedure install and open mobile odin
Put at the place is saying param the param.bin file
Put at the place is saying kernel the stock kernel
check to wipe the dalvik cache (is not necessary but do it)
Flash and reboot
Check root, is ok 99% but if is not ok flash with your custom recovery supersuupdate
and after reboot check again root
If ok open again mobile odin and
put at the place is saying recovery stock recovery and flash it
After reboot install triangle away follow dev instuctions and reset the counter.
Thats all after reboot shut down your phone enter download mode and check your warranty.

Now i am attaching the param.bin file (u have to extract with winrar)
and some ready packets (kernel, recovery, param.bin) for some 4.4.2 versions, u can use them or use your own with param.bin file).
The srvr is paid but u can download as free user too (is not necessary to pay)

Step 1-
Install Rom Customizer from Playstore
Step 2-
Make Sure You Have a Custom Recovery - TWRP or Philz
Step 3-
Put ROM on sd. Open rom customizer. Select install from zip. Choose whether to install samsung bloat, google bloat or blackglass. Choose install. Reboot MANUALLY to recovery (ROM Customizer will say rebooting...its not...you have to do it!)
Step 4-
Once booted open Alliance Manager from app drawer to create needed folder structures
Step 5-
Enjoy!!

SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT..
I have been my own beta tester, I have rebuilt it about 20 times, and then built the final v1.0




RECOMMENDATIONS...

*To use the Lockscreen status bar button I suggest you just to hold it untill it pops up twice, then you can release your finger in order to choose 1 of the power off options. To lock your screen just tap once.

*The message app is in English by default, it has no translations. May be I incorporate the translations later. But this was dumped from s5 Verizon version in order to use the Floating Messages feature, that's why.

*The galaxy alpha apps are working superb/flawlessly.

*If you don't like my rom, download any other from xda and you're good to go...

*Ink Effect: You can pick the color you want, from the ULTRA Ink Color Changer. Enter to app and check it, then pick the color you want. The color shows on lockscreen, but it depends obviously of the wallpaper you have chosen.(to see it clearly)

*If you feel any small battery draining you can delete the GPU Rendering script from >system >etc >init.d, and also delete the Velvet.apk from >system >priv-app This Velvet.apk (google now) is from the Galaxy Alpha, I never use it so it's not present on my phone, I only let it in case someone need it, and to get the action memo fully working regarding to the web search. GPU Rendering doesn't affect to deep sleep, it only takes action when you're using your phone, and remember to uncheck the gpu rendering option from Developers option in settings, then reboot, and you're good to go! (Oh, and why Velvet.apk? Because I think it's a battery drainer, that's why..)

*The system is ultra tweaked, but if you want a little shorter animation duration you can set the scale animations to 0.5x (only the frist one from the 3) in settings, developers option.

*The sound is tweaked, it is increased up to 58db, so I suggest you jus to low the notification sound till it hears fine, or if not wait till I provide the stock default_gain file



INSTRUCTIONS..
*1 You need to make a FULL WIPE, that involves /data, /system, /dalvik, /cache, /internal sd and /format data using TWRP (recovery recommended by me)
*2 Flash the rom and wait till it ends.
*3 Reboot
*4 Enjoy!
